Of the people who collapse with sudden cardiac arrest, those in ventricular fibrillation (VF) or with pulseless ventricular tachycardia (VT) (around 85% of sudden cardiac arrest casualties) have the greatest chance of survival.
Survival is dependent on early defibrillation using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The delivery of an electrical shock via an AED to a heart experiencing SCA briefly stops all electrical activity in the heart and the pace making cells in the heart then have a chance to regain a normal heart rhythm.
At present, less than 5% of people survive a SCA out of the hospital. "TIME" is critical in saving lives. Every minute that goes by results in a 10% decline in the chance of survival (therefore, there is a 10 minute window of opportunity).
The average Ambulance response time is 11 minutes, which is clearly not sufficient for someone who has suffered a SCA. This is where we can help with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

The Answer is YES!
Least number of Steps
In an emergency when the adrenaline is flowing it is proven that the fewer the number of critical steps necessary, the better the outcome. All you need to do is open the lid to start the device and your AED has a patented one-step operation.
Easy to Use
There are no buttons on the AED, so the user can never do anything wrong and the AED will only deliver a shock if the pads are effectively placed and the AED finds an abnormal heart rhythm. Comprehensive voice and texts prompts keep you informed as to what to do so you are always on the right track.
These AED's have a "Status Indicator" on the front of the unit that indicates the current working order. It will automatically test all of the 3 critical components (battery, pre-connected electrodes & circuitry).
STAR Biphasic - Defibrillation is customised to each individual based on the patients impedance and defibrillation threshold (based on patients needs)
RHYTHMx Detection Algorithm - Sensitity of 100% (VF, VT & SVT detection) and Specificity of 99.4% (inappropriate shocking)
AED follows ARC guidelines
Non-Committed shock - if the patient reverts even after detection before the shock is delivered, the AED will stand down
Default energy settings (200j, 300j, 300j variable energy) with a VF/VT 160 bmp detection rate and 200 SVT. Detection rate and energy settings can be programmed with MDLink software.
5 programmable energy protocols (ranges from 95 - 354 joules)
Each AED comes with rescue link (Event Review) software.
Paediatric electrodes are available for children under 8 years old or less than 25kg.
A range of other accessories are available.
